Things To Do
There are many activities that guests can do at The Folly or you may want to just sit back and relax.
We front 7km of the Severn river and have many waterholes that contain Murray Cod, Yellow belly, Silver Perch and catfish.
As many as 130 species of birds can be found around in the Ballandean area. Borrow a set of binoculars and start spotting!
We have many different spots to go for Bushwalks from timid to very steep. This is one of the best ways to enjoy the scenery.
Four Wheel Driving
The steep and rocky terrain of the mountains over the property are accessible only by walking or 4 wheel drive. We have a track that takes guests from one side of the property to the other where there are many opportunities to view wildlife along the way.
Another great activity while out walking or 4 wheel driving is to see the many different wild animals around the property including Fallow deer, kangaroos, wallabies, wallaroos, goats, hares and maybe, if you’re lucky, a koala.
Guests are welcome to participate in farm activities if they wish to. We have sheep at the Folly which require moving from paddock to paddock throughout various times of the year, and there is always something that guests can do to help!
The Granite Belt Bike Trail which comes in from Stanthorpe, goes right past us and into Ballandean, and can be enjoyed by serious cyclists or just for a bit of fun. Young guests are also welcome to bring their bikes for some exploring on the property.
